Making Waves
Hi crafty folk
Here are a couple of cards that I whipped up really quickly. They need little explanation.
The papers are from a paper stack by First Edition called Beyond the Shore. I thought it worked well with the theme.
Using the same craft kit, I made the mermaid card using a background paper from Studio Light called Ocean View.
I'll add these cards to my collection of ready-mades that I can add to and personalise as the need arises.
Its like having my very own card shop!

Happy Post
Hi crafty friends. I hope you are all having a great day.
Did you guys know, we just had National Send a Friend a Card Day?
Apparently it was 7th February. So I'm a little late to the party, but hey-ho! I'm here and guess what I was doing on the 7th? I was making cards for my friends!
Don't you think a card or letter through the mail is so much more fun than a text? I know I do - it really makes my day.
These two were so easy to make I found myself making some extras, just for the fun of it.
I started with a blank white card - I used 6" x 6" but you could use any size or colour. I think it works really well with a square card.
With both my examples, I did a little stencilling first, to give an interesting background. I used a couple of my Crafter's Companion stencils.
Then I chose some beautiful paper to work with. I have something of a paper obsession, and I really enjoy using it to create beautiful things to give my friends and family.
This time, I chose to use the gorgeous Woodland Friends and Sara's Signature Collection, Rose Garden, both from Crafter's Companion.
For each card I cut three pieces of paper, 3 x 6, 4 x 6 and 5 x 6. I smudged the edges and rounded the corners to give an interesting finish.
I layered the paper and stuck down to form pockets across my card.
I made some notelets and recipe cards to pop into the pockets and tucked a letter into the back of each card.
I hope my friends will smile when they receive my cards. We all could use more of those throughout this pandemic.
Stay well and keep safe.

Sending a Smile
Everyone needs a smile, right? I mean, here in the UK we're deep in Lockdown Three and no sign of the end. I miss my family, those grandchild hugs just never get old and the simple pleasure of a coffee in town is a thing of the past. But you know what makes it better? A good, old fashioned letter through the post. Its a smile right there in an envelope, delivered to your door.
So my project for the weekend is to make some nice cards to carry my letters in. And the good news is, you can whip this one up in next to no time. I started with a blank 6"x 6" card and rounded the corners.
I used the It's Time stencil from Crafter's Companion to create the background and then cut a strip of their Rose Garden paper for the top. I stamped and cut the sentiment (also Crafter's Companion) and the front of the card was done.
The pockets are mostly from Crafter's Companion Precious Memories Dimensionals die sets, but the one in the first corner is just a simple fold. Then I cut some tags and little notelets to match and filled those little pockets.
Finally, my letter to my lovely sister will go in the special ribbon tied envelope.
Isn't this a fun project? I know she will love opening it and its sure to make her smile.
